How to prepare for a move-out clean
A few steps that help the clean go smoothly before you hand over the keys.
Empty the home first
Move out furniture, boxes and personal items before the clean. Empty cupboards, closets and the fridge. Cleaners can reach every surface in an empty home, and nothing gets missed behind a box.
Check what the landlord or buyer expects
Read your lease or sale terms and any move-out checklist. Share it with the cleaner so the clean covers what will be checked. Point out marks or spots you want them to look at.
Plan access and timing
Pick a day after the movers and before the final walk-through. Make sure the power and water are still on. Agree how the cleaner will get in and how you will get the keys back.
